Making something out of nothing...

takes a whole lot of vision, time, patience and funds.

These pictures were taken in March of 2006 when we purchased the house.

We bought the house for several reasons:

first, the price

second, the potential!

third, the south facing yard with a nice view from all south facing windows.

This lot is 65 x 110. With the house being 850 sq. ft. the remaining yard is very large, for my standards.

Blogging?

Here...I...am.

For years I have enjoyed exploring house and garden blogs. Recently I found a fellow Eurekan's restoration blog on blogspot. The Petch House. Discovering his blog has been inspiring.

It has inspired even me...I don't write well enough to entertain a wide audience. This blog is intended to diary our progress more than anything.

We purchased this home in Eureka, California in March of 2006. My hope is to have this baby of ours in good shape come it's 100th birthday. Eight years. It doesn't sound like much time when two people are working full-time and raising two children. We have made baby steps...but more on that at a later date.
